Due to the intense and rigorous nature of the Program, 
       we will select a maximum of thirteen students for each class from 
       the group of candidates auditioning. We require all those auditioning 
       to be at least 18 years of age. Candidates must sign up with the
       Studio Office during the week before auditions begin which will be 
       approximately ten days prior to the start of each Four-Month Course.
       Typically, auditions will take place on a Thursday-Friday-Saturday 
       schedule with announcements being posted on the following
       Monday. All auditions will be video taped.  Video material of the 
       auditions will be used for purposes of the selection process only.

       The following outlines the requirements of the audition. 
        No resumes or photos will be considered.
 


                   I.   Tell us a story (prose), lyric, monologue or fable – 
                          - Be honest 
                          - Make an Impression
                          - Give us the “surprise” (the natural gift ) about yourself
                          - In what ways are you “different” (unique skills )?
                          - Introduce your acting personality 

                 You will be asked to complete simple tasks changing
                     the character and/or the circumstances in your presented material. 

                 II.   Tell us about yourself
                          - Go as personal as you can (fears, holdbacks, worries; 
                            dreams, hopes, desires…) 
                          - Do not impress – share
                          - Be short and concise 
                          - Do not try to be funny or “original” – only be You
                          - Introduce your human personality (the more genuine 
                            you are, the more you will benefit from the program) 

                 III.   How did you become interested in theatre acting?
                          - Tell us about the moment you decided to be an actor
                          - Tell us the very first thing you did to begin (lessons, 
                            self-practice, studio work, etc.)
                          - As an actor, what are you looking for at this point in 
                            your life? 

                 IV.   What do you know about Theatre?
                          - Theatre styles and types from present and past (a short 
                            knowledge task) 
                          - Personal tastes, preferences of style, types of shows you 
                            like best as an audience 
                          - If you picture yourself in one of these, then why and 
                            how? (be very brief)

                  V.   What are you expecting from this studio?
                          - Be very open and direct
                          - Interested in a “short term trial” or would you like to 
                            “stick around”?
                          - Do you prefer Study Exercises or Production Work?
                          - Share your goal in the theatre for the future
                          - What is your personal sentence or motto, that 
                            epitomizes your way of getting results, of completing
                            the Goal? What does it take for you?
 

 
  … and after all that, just sit back, relax and listen carefully to your colleagues, 
       giving them the same attention with which they have honored your presentation.
